Spiderman 2
One word: Good
Quite entertaining. Overall, a fun film. Lot's of little flaws though.
The good: Whoooooly crap, DOC FRIGG"N OCK!!! Just nailed it. Only after seeing the special feature did I know that the tentacles where a mix of CG and live pupeteering. Blended perfectly. BRUCE FRIGG"N CAMPBELL. Cameo but it's always good to see Brucie. Though, I think he would have been better in a different cameo (all I gotta say is CHAINSAW. You'll know it when you see it). The Train Fight. Sure, it was almost all CG, but damn!!! Kirsten Dunst, looking cute as ever.
The Bad: Could we have a little MORE long closeup shots of Tobey Maguire looking forlorned? Loosing your superpowers because you've lost your self confidence... come-ON, sheez. Severe LACK of special features on the DVD (they must all be on the 2nd disc not included with the netflix rent).

Batman Begins
One word: Fantastic
Better than Burtons' first Batman in almost every way. Perfect in almost every way. This is THE Batman we've been waiting for. Badass, realistic, depth, dark, logical.
The Good: FX, flawless. Sets, beautiful. Plot, well thought out. Cast, almost perfect.
The Bad: well, barely anything bad. I don't think Christian Bale was a good choice to play Bats and unfotunitely even though every other character was well cast, they are all playing themselves.
Overall: Damn fine.

Lost in Translation
One word: Fluff
But good fluff. It's cute, in a good way. Nothing really profound happens, the movie just kinda drifts along as if a dream, but it's a good dream. A few giggles, some beautifull shots, quite a few nice quiet moments, some light contrasts between American and Japanese cultures, but again, nothing profound. Both Scarlette and Bill do well here even though there wasn't much in the way of acting that needed to happen. Not much streaching here, but you won't notice.
It's a delicate cream puff that is as much joy to consume as to rememeber the taste of, just lacking in substinative nutrition, but not in a horrible way.
